Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are prosthetic tooth replacements for people who have no remaining teeth on either one or both arches. This condition can occur as the result of a trauma, decay, or gum disease.

Many people choose full dentures to help restore oral function and cosmetically enhance their smiles. Dentures are prosthetic teeth attached to an acrylic or plastic base. This base is custom fitted to the patient’s gum line and supporting bone structure to ensure a snug fit. A well-fitted denture can take on the natural appearance of real teeth – making them a discreet option for total tooth replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a candidate for full dentures?

You may be a candidate for dentures if you have no remaining teeth on your upper arch, lower arch, or both. Dentures are affordable, non-invasive, and are an effective alternative for patients with insufficient bone structure to support an implant. For more information about full dentures, contact our office to schedule a tooth-replacement consultation.

What should I expect when being fitted for full dentures?

If you are a candidate for full dentures, the doctor will take an impression of your gum line and send it to a dental lab where your dentures will be fabricated. You will return to our office at a later date to pick up your dentures and have them examined for proper fit.

How will I need to care for my dentures?

Dentures must remain moist to retain their shape. The doctor will give you instructions for proper storage, as well as daily cleaning. Remember to clean your gums twice daily with a soft bristled tooth brush as well. Continue visiting the dentist for periodic exams. Bring your dentures to have them inspected for wear and fit.
